Lizzy (Faithful Senta of Strathummel) is a very active Springer and is a keen participant in the beating line. Known as 'Dizzy Lizzy' she will retrieve when required, and before coming to France competed in scurries, working tests and field trials. The daughter of Bramble, she was mated for the first time on April 7th 2007 to 'Kenmill to Early Swim' whose sire was INT FT. CH. 'Laganmill Maestro'. Lizzy produced six bitch and four dog puppies on the 7th June 2007, of which two bitches have been retained to train on. Only eleven weeks after having her pups, Lizzy obtained her first Certificate of Merit in a novice working test, handled by our son, David. Lizzy is now LOF;, and since coming to France has obtained a 'Tre Bon' classification in field trials, and in 2010 obtained a 4th, 3rd and 2nd with a Reserve CACT in French Trials. Lizzy is a regular member of the picking up team at Chateau De La Verrerie. She is expecting a litter in May 2011. Eyes clear, Fucosidosis clear.
Skye (Fenflyer Ring of Gold of Strathummel), was bred by Vivianne and Dennis Abbs, and is Marilyn's pride and joy. Despite serious illness during her first three months of life, Skye has responded extremely well to training, obtaining a third in a Special Puppy working test at just eight months of age; handled of course by Marilyn. Since moving to France Skye has entered working tests,a nd has passed her 'Selective B', allowing her to enter French field trials. This is a team to watch during the coming years. Skye is now LOF, and had her first litter of eight pups on 10th November 2008. Hot headed, her highest field trial award has been an unplaced Excellent at Mauran in 2010. She also is a regualr member of the picking up team at Chateau De La Verrerie. Optigen Tested for PRA August 2007. Carrier; Hips scored 7 and 3.
Fen (Hero of the Fens of Strathummel) Born in the UK, and now LOF, Fen is also one of the Abbs' breeding, and is Alan's constant companion. Although calmer than Skye, he can be hot headed. He obtained his first UK working test award in 2007. He has entered French working tests, and competes in French field trials. Fen was 1st in the Novice working test run by AURA, April 2009 in France. A lover of water, Fen also picks up at Chateau De La Verrerie., and is first choice when picking up duck. Optigen Tested for PRA August 2007. Clear/Normal. Hips 7 and 7.
Isla (Almondglen Isla of Strathummel), was bred on the Glen Almond estate in Perthshire by Brian Dickson, and was sired by our friend Nicola Hannan's fox red Druimmuir Desert Storm. She is a loving compliant dog, always wanting to please. Born in May 2007, she has so far gained a Tres Bon in French field trials, handled by son David. 2010 saw her first year of picking up. Optigen Tested for PRA August 2007. Clear/Normal
Mo and Fleur (Strathummel Jasmine and Strathummel Fleur). Both UK born, and now LOF. These litter sisters, are bundles of joy and trouble. The offspring of our Lizzy by Niel Hutchinson's 'Kenmill to Early Swim', they both responded well to early obedience training, although both are very bold and adventerous. Fleur had perhaps the better nose at this early stage, but Mo developed quicker during 2009 - 2010. Fleur was awarded 2nd place in her TAN in April 2009, while Mo qualified for French field trials in 2010. Fleaur had her first litter in January 2011, and in April 2011 qualified to run in French trials. Both clear of eye problems and Fucosidosis.
Anna (Strathummel Dianna) is the daughter of Fen and Skye. Born in France in November 2008, Anna is LOF. She is a very loving dog, but has proven to be a slow developer. Anna passed her TAN at Pommarard in 2010, and we hope that she will pass her Selective B this autumn. Not yet health checked..Faithful Friends Now Passed On

Laddie was obtained by Marilyn from a dog rescue centre when he was approximately a year old. Badly treated as a puppy, he was gentle as a lamb, however, he hated confined spaces and going into kennels. His great love was chasing squirrels in the woods near his home, and protecting his mistress and her son David from all comers. He adored Alan, and Bramble, and lived happily alongside two cats. He had his spleen removed in the summer of 2005, and went on to live another six months.
Solo (Kipperidge Kain), died in 2007 and was owned and worked by Christine Howe. He is featured here as he was the sire of Lizzy. Solo was a hard working, clever gundog, beautifully bred and with an excellent temperament. Well known for being the key picking up dog for a number of years at Staunton Harold shoot, Solo was a character in his own right and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bramble (Fantastic Beauty) was our first Springer, and the mother of Lizzy. A loyal, stoical, faithful companion, Bramble loved digging and jumping into muddy pools. She was still beating at the age of ten, and would pick up; however, she never took to retrieving toys or dummies. She died in January 2009 of liver failure, and is buried on our property in France.
